Real Talk Savannah - 12/15/2017 - Safety and Self-Defense During the Holidays

This week on Real Talk we have Pamela Balmer-Murphy joining us to discuss holiday safety and self-defense tips.

Pamela Balmer-Murphy is a product of the New York City Public School System. She is a mother of five and continuing her education as a Human Services Administrator at The University of Phoenix. Mrs. Balmer-Murphy possesses a very diverse background as she was the youngest marketing manager for Bell Atlantic Telephone Company at the age of nineteen in New York City. Driving that experience, she became the Chief Operating Officer of WATS UP, Inc. a telemarketing company. This led to her opportunity of taking the Chief Executive Officer’s position with VIDPRO, Inc., a large electronics distribution company. Upon her retirement, she relocated to Savannah, Georgia and married her childhood sweetheart, Stephen E. Murphy, and engaged herself in the Juvenile Court System as a Child Advocate.

Her long time passion to ensure the safety and welfare of children everywhere found her as the Training Coordinator and community liaison for CASA, Inc. (Court Appointed Special Advocate). Mrs. Balmer-Murphy was a founding member of “The Emmanuel Center, Inc.” a local non-profit group. That at the height of our recent recession gave help to homeless families, providing job leads, clothing, training, food and shelter. Mrs. Balmer-Murphy youngest daughter was attacked by three people in her college dormitory and this brought Mrs. Balmer-Murphy to seek out a way to protect her children to include women and children everywhere. Through her website, pamelasdefense.com she represents award winning personal protection devices for adults, alarms for children and the SAFE Hearts program for children by Damsel in Defense. Damsel in Defense has a home for children being rescued from sex trafficking and their efforts in helping survivors of sex abuse and domestic violence are unparalleled. Mrs. Balmer-Murphy has and always will be an advocate for women and children who have been temporarily silenced. Through her speaking engagements she educates, equips and empowers women.

Empowered women, empower women.
