The guest on this show shares experience of moving from the United States as part of the dominant culture (white) to Hawaii and being immediately in an environment unwelcoming to a white young male. We talk about how he never received “the talk” that some African-American individuals received to better prepare for the prejudice of a racist culture.
Question – How can we shift from describing someone by “race” and start using other descriptions, i.e., clothes, instead of skin color? Try it for a week to see if you can make the shift.
