Evening Eclectic February 25, 2024 Dan Weiss and Marcus Gilmore - Sculpting Sound

Tonight on Evening Eclectic I am talking with percussionists Marcus Gilmore and Dan Weiss about their performance at the Sculpting Sound set of concerts back in February, 2022 at the Nasher Museum in Dallas Texas.  This concert was part of six concerts, each of  which a featured pair of performers who are known for their distinctive voices in spontaneous composition.  Each concert involved an improvisational set of  pair of performers on their instruments and on a set of sound sculptures by Harry Bertoia.   I was at the concerts back in 2022 and it was a musical highlight of my concert going experiences that I will always remember.  Videos of this concert series were just released at SculptingSound.org.
