Tonight on Savannah Music Local and Sustainable I am talking with flutist Angela Massey of the Astralis Chamber Ensemble. A week from Friday on March 8th at 7:30pm, the Astralis Ensemble is performing a concert entitled “Baroque Legends” as part of the Bach Ascending series in the sanctuary of the Lutheran Church of the Ascension in Wright Square in Savannah. The concert will include works by legendary composers from the period, including Johann Sebastian Bach, Vivaldi, Telemann, Quantz and more. Trios, quartets and solo repertoire will feature each performer in this unforgettable evening of music. In addition the Astralis Chamber Ensemble will be performing at the first Baroque Brunch on Saturday, March 9th at 11am in Crumley Hall, Lutheran Church of the Ascension in Wright Square in Savannah.
