Sat. 5 pm. on When the Moon Sings with P.T. Bridgeport, some jazz classics that rocked the pop charts this week, from Cannonball Adderley and Chuck Mangione. Also FLOW, Eric Bikales, Wim Mertens, and others. 09/08/2018
Sat. 5 pm. It’s music this week, starting with one of Herbie Mann’s classic jazz flute pieces. Herbie doesn’t get as much play today, and that’s too bad. He was quick to employ pop music in his work, but he was also a great innovator and did some really fine soul sounding work. Sergio Mendes and his cover of Shirley Bassey’s “The Trouble With Hello Is Goodbye”. It’s got a gorgeous vocal, and I can’t find which singer performed – it’s either Bonnie Bowden or Sondra Cotton, Adam Hurst and FLOW, among many other things. I might even have a thought or two to report. 09/01/2018
