This Sunday night, November 18, 2018 from 10 pm to midnight ET, Evening Eclectic will be the first of two Experience the Best of Vancouver Music shows featuring mostly local Vancouver and British Columbia musicians whose music I experienced while in Vancouver. It was a rare night that I was not out experiencing music of Vancouver during my time there. This is the first of two shows exploring some of my musical experiences. One show cannot cover the depth and breadth of my experiences there. So in addition to this show I will be taking over Beyond the Liner Notes” on Friday November 23rdto do more Vancouver music and next week’s November 25thEvening Eclectic will also feature music from my experiences in Vancouver. Each show will have some repeated musicians and some new musicians. We will have The Fretless, Hank Pine, Joe and his band Milk Crate Bandits, Jen Hodge’s All-stars, and Jimmy Baldwin from the pop and old time jazz genres. A Shell in the Pit (Gordon McGladdery) and music from video games, classical music featuring Danielle Marcinek, and traditional music featuring Musica Intima will all be featured on the program. We will wrap up with modern jazz featuring bands and musicians I heard both at Frankie’s Jazz Club and Pat’s Bar and Jazz Club with Bill Runge Quintet, Brad Turner, Steve Kaldestad and Bill Coon.
